Job summary

The New York Times International desk is seeking a Video Journalist to produce and edit stories with multimedia correspondents based in New York, with field correspondents around the world. You will join a team to pioneer new video reporting approaches and craft compelling, on-the-ground coverage.

You should have deep experience in video storytelling, editing, shooting and scripting for narration, with ability to use graphics and animation to illustrate complex ideas.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of video storytelling and production at a news organization.
• Strong portfolio, preferably of inventive short-form video.
• Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
• Broad knowledge of current events and news.
• Experience editing quickly with Adobe Premiere.

Responsibilities

• Write, produce, edit and publish videos with regional editors.
• Devise innovative digital video storytelling approaches.
• Work with correspondents to cover a region in video.
• Collaborate with International editors and video colleagues.
• Uphold journalistic independence and our mission.
• Position reports to the Senior Producer, International in New York.
