Job description

About The Role

As a CBRE Transaction Management Director, you will lead a dedicated transaction management team supporting a complex, global occupier client. This is a high-visibility leadership position on a strategically important global account — a leadership role, not simply a delivery role. You will own the health of the account’s transaction function across multiple regions, shape how the team operates, and serve as a trusted advisor to both client executives and CBRE leadership. You will balance three mandates simultaneously: delivering flawless transaction execution, building and developing a high-performing team, and helping design the future-state operating model as the account scales and evolves. In doing so, you will help define how CBRE delivers for one of its most complex clients, build a team that scales with the relationship, and position yourself for broader account and platform leadership. This hybrid position will be based in San Francisco or Chicago.

What You’ll Do
Lead the Account
  • Serve as the senior transaction management point of accountability for the client, coordinating delivery across regions and time zones.
  • Partner directly with client stakeholders and CBRE account leadership to align real estate execution with the client’s global strategy.
  • Represent CBRE with executive presence in client-facing settings, translating complex real estate decisions into clear business outcomes.
Build and Develop the Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of transaction professionals, including direct and matrixed reports across regions.
  • Own staffing strategy for the account: gearing, capacity planning, role design, hiring, and retention.
  • Create an environment where the team operates consistently, shares best practices, and grows into broader responsibility.
  • Establish clear escalation paths and reporting lines so the team knows where to go when transactions get difficult.
Drive Commercial and Operational Performance
  • Oversee a high volume and variety of transactions across office, industrial, retail, and land, ensuring quality, speed, and client alignment.
  • Own the account’s commercial health: fee models, reimbursement, savings tracking, forecasting, and margin performance.
  • Accountable for financial review and quality control, ensuring analyses are validated before reaching the client. Interpret complex financial analysis (NPV, IRR, cash flow) and translate it into executive-ready recommendations.
  • Maintain critical dates governance across the portfolio, with a standing review rhythm rather than ad hoc tracking.
Modernize How Work Gets Done
  • Continuously improve the account’s operating model, playbooks, reporting, and technology to raise service quality and efficiency.
  • Build KPI, quality‑assurance, and client‑satisfaction frameworks that demonstrate measurable value.
  • Identify and solve complex, multi‑regional operational challenges by mobilizing the right resources across CBRE.
Experience
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 8–12 years of relevant transaction or account management experience. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Real Estate Salesperson license (or ability to obtain).
  • Demonstrated success leading transaction teams across multiple regions, with direct experience in more than one of the Americas, EMEA, or APAC.
Leadership
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, not just authority, across regions, cultures, and matrixed teams.
  • Track record of coaching, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Executive presence and the credibility to advise senior client and CBRE stakeholders.
  • Regional fluency, with the judgment not to assume one operating approach transfers across markets or cultures.
Commercial and Analytical Acumen
  • Strong command of transaction economics, financial analysis, and account profitability.
  • Ability to shape staffing models, gearing analysis, and future‑state operating structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern real estate/reporting technology.
Mindset
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists.
  • Naturally curious, data‑driven, and continuous‑improvement oriented.
  • Knows when to go deep on a transaction and when to stay at the operating‑model level.
  • Models CBRE’s RISE values in how they lead and collaborate.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
