Job summary

Kontoor Brands in Greensboro, NC is seeking a proactive Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with US and Canadian customs regulations and trade laws. This role will oversee at least one functional area of Trade Compliance while serving as a SME in at least two areas.

The specialist will lead process improvements, manage audits, and collaborate with logistics, distribution center operations, finance, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international business, finance, or supply chain management.
• 3–5 years' experience in Trade Compliance with direct customs exposure.
• Proficient with classification, import and export compliance.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with audits and interaction with government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge in Imports, Exports, Special Programs (FTA, Drawback, FTZ, First Sale), and Supply Chain Security (CTPAT).
• Liaison with external brokers ensuring Import and Export Compliance.
• Ensure compliance for product classification (HTS).
• Serve as a consultant and SME to other departments on Trade Compliance or Customs issues.
• Support standardization of customs compliance operations and processes.
• Deliver compliance improvements and savings opportunities.
• Research regulatory changes in US and Canada.
• Define and maintain compliance KPIs and KCIs.
• Maintain appropriate record keeping as required.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Trade Compliance Manager.
• Create and analyze reports from ACE, CARM, or other sources.
