Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking an Import Compliance Specialist to partner with Merchandising, Sourcing, Transportation, Finance, and Distribution Operations to ensure smooth import of goods while staying compliant with U.S. Customs and international trade requirements.

This role analyzes trade data, identifies risks, and contributes to the growth of our global trade compliance program. If you enjoy solving complex problems and collaborating across functions to improve supply chain

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Trade Compliance, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in import/export compliance, customs brokerage, international logistics, or global trade operations.
  • Working knowledge of HTS classification, Incoterms, customs documentation, and international shipping processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, FDA requirements, PGA, and other trade regulations.
  • Partner with customs brokers to support import entry processing and customs clearance.
  • Classify products using HTSUS codes and support country-of-origin determinations.
  • Conduct internal compliance reviews and audits per company policies and trade standards.
  • Maintain auditable import documentation and records.
  • Serve as advisor to internal teams on customs, import compliance, and regulatory requirements.
