Apple is looking for a creative problem-solver with a background in delivering solutions according to the highest service standards. Apple’s Global Security team is looking for a Behavioral Threat Assessor to support the Global Threats & Crisis Management Organization. You will work directly with business units, People team, Global Security, and various law enforcement agencies to provide security mitigation recommendations. You will help strategize, plan, and develop creative concepts on a wide variety of projects, initiatives, and campaigns. Your work will help build solutions surrounding risk and safety assessments, increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, and assist with critical incidents affecting Apple.

Responsibilities
  • Lead as a subject matter expert (SME) and serve as an escalation point for threats involving complex interpersonal, reputational, or safety‑related dynamics involving employees, former employees, customers, or unknown individuals.
  • Conduct in‑depth behavioral analysis and recommend tailored mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with leaders from the business unit who request security services to guarantee that each assignment and the scope of work are meticulously planned, executed, and maintained in the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Oversee project management, attend meetings, and communicate updates to the team, including training sessions and event debriefings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners such as law enforcement, government agencies, Apple business units, and vendors.
  • Provide analytic support to enable threat detection and identification of concerning behaviors and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate complex threat issues to diverse audiences across Apple.
  • Collaborate with critical stakeholders at Apple and other partners to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of professional experience in supporting a threat program and/or conducting protective intelligence investigations or analysis; assessing complex threats and developing mitigation strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to strategize and creatively address challenging problems, delivering practical and effective results.
  • Experience in understanding, analyzing, and communicating complex risks; identifying anomalous behaviors; and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Experience assessing and leveraging multiple data sets and tools to support complex analysis.Experience managing, coordinating, and maintaining multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to be available on‑call for emergencies and be adaptable to constantly changing schedules which may include weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Travel 10 - 25% of the time, with on‑call responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in managing sensitive high‑impact threat cases across business settings.
  • Experienced in Behavioral Threat Assessment and conducting security and risk assessments.
  • Results‑oriented, and focus with a strong desire to learn and succeed.
  • Ability to think quickly and perform problem‑solving tasks within complex conditions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, with previous experience working on complex, international, large‑scale, time‑critical projects.
  • Must have exceptional organizational, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • High degree of knowledge of best‑in‑class applicable software/tools (e.g. social media monitoring and investigations, case management software, etc.), investigative strategies, and research methods to address threats to people and places.
  • Possess a Certified Threat Manager certification or other specialized psychological education.
  • Association of Threat Assessment Professional (ATAP) membership in good standing.
  • Ability to react to changes in a time critical environment to meet security needs and quickly evaluate situations.
Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,300 and $263,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
