Job summary

Bank of America is looking for Cybersecurity Analysts to enroll in their Summer Analyst Program. This 10-week program offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience, develop technical skills, and work on innovative cybersecurity solutions.

Interns will engage in training and projects that have a significant impact on the business while acquiring extensive knowledge about cybersecurity, networking, and financial services.

Eligible candidates should be pursuing a degree in relevant fields and have a strong interest in technology and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred.

Responsibilities

The Global Technology division manages the critical systems and platforms that form the backbone of the company's retail, commercial and institutional businesses, as well as key support functions around the world.

Our Global Technology Summer Analyst Program provides you with a unique experience based on your interests, development opportunities and current business needs. Analyst positions support teams that work on the latest technology and emerging technical trends.

Our Program

The Summer program is a 10-week program designed to provide Summer Analysts with a unique opportunity to gain an exposure to life at Bank of America and also make significant contributions to the team. The Summer program begins with an in-person week-long orientation and induction to the firm with networking opportunities. To prepare you for your Summer internship, you will attend an in-person, week-long orientation where you will receive Bank/Line of Business information and network with peers and Enterprise leaders across Summer Campus programs. Summer Analysts are given a true associate experience, as assignments mirror full-time responsibility and include goal setting and a formal review process.

Although the role you take on may vary, every intern will have the opportunity for robust learning through trainings, professional development, networking events, volunteer activities, speaker series, and more! During your 10 weeks with Bank of America, you'll strengthen your key skills and competencies to help jump start your career and make a real impact on our business from day one.

Education

Considered candidates are required to be pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree from an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates must have a graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028.

  • Degree Type: Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree
    • Considered candidates should be in their penultimate year of school
    • Masters candidates should not have more than 0 years of experience
  • Graduation Dates: November 2027 - August 2028
  • Major/Course of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar degree of relevance
  • GPA: 3.5 minimum GPA preferred

  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of programming languages, data visualization tools, application frameworks, distributed systems and databases
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, including various work assignments and changing priorities
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to influence both vertically and horizontally
  • Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic and a team attitude
  • Distinguished written and oral communications skills
  • Candidates should possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for excellence, and a commitment to achieving sustainable results. Additionally, students should hold strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office as well as show proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism

Cybersecurity Analyst

For all roles, teams are assigned mid-spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time, business-critical needs.

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
  • Providing analytical, strategic, and technical skills to design, develop, implement, and use state-of-the-art technology cybersecurity solutions aimed at reducing risk
  • Being responsible for delivering innovative capabilities in team environment, as well as leveraging skills, background, and interests for a specific group within Bank of America
  • Responding to, researching, measuring, detecting, and mitigating security attacks that attempt to compromise at the network and application layers
  • Working on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors
  • Being responsible for global incident management and event management processes
  • Supporting to produce metrics to track remediation activities
  • Supporting aspects of Information Security including the development of strategy and policy; vulnerability identification and management; monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity incidents
Recommended Skillsets
  • Coursework in Cybersecurity, Networking, Information Systems, and/or Programming
  • Knowledge of industry trends and current threat landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and correlate information from a wide variety of enterprise technologies
  • Interest in working in a global team of industry leading cybersecurity experts across multiple cyber domains
  • Practical understanding of core cyber security principles
  • Display clear motivation for exploring a cyber security, technology career within financial services
