Job summary

Superior Essex is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our tax team in Atlanta. You will assist with federal, state, and international tax compliance and tax provisioning, supporting audits, and driving process improvements across multinational tax jurisdictions.

The role requires 3+ years of tax experience (including mid-level compliance), a degree in accounting, and strong analytical skills. CPA or advanced tax credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of tax experience, including at least 1 year of mid-level compliance work.
• CPA, Masters in Tax or JD (with tax focus) preferred; experience in tax compliance, accounting and research.
• US international tax experience is a plus; knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with OneSource Tax Provision and income tax software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with federal and state income tax compliance, including single entity and consolidated returns, estimated payments, and extensions.
• Prepare US and Canada consumption tax returns.
• Conduct tax research and monitor changes to federal and state tax laws; analyze potential impacts to the company.
• Manage tax notices and respond to audit requests; interact with auditors.
• Involvement with international aspects of federal compliance.
• Coordinate with professional consultants/advisors and flow of information for tax projects.
• Assist with worldwide ASC 740 quarterly and annual tax provisions; prepare year-end and provision-to-return calculations.
