Job summary

Dechert LLP in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C. seeks Global Talent Development Director to partner with the Chief Talent Officer to lead training and development across global offices for attorneys and business services professionals.

Responsibilities include onboarding, mentoring, D&I, CLE/CPD, performance management, coaching, and firm-wide programs. JD preferred and law firm experience required; strong communication and project management needed.

Qualifications

• JD preferred; law firm experience required.
• 10–15 years of progressive Talent Development leadership experience, ideally in a global environment.
• Experience in a large law firm or professional services environment, with specialized knowledge of training, learning and development, onboarding, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
• 10+ years in a management-level role, including supervisory experience.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely and adjust tone appropriately.
• Excellent technical skills in MS Office, particularly Excel; LMS knowledge (Workday HRIS will be an advantage).
• The ability to learn and adapt to new systems as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training and development initiatives for lawyers and BSPs, including firm-wide programs and specific groups.
• Direct the Partner Development program, including New Partner Orientation and training initiatives for Income and Equity partners.
• Ensure adherence to CLE and MCLE requirements across jurisdictions.
• Lead onboarding of lateral associates and BSP orientations.
• Lead D&I initiatives and data-driven analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
• Support mentoring, coaching, and evaluation processes across the firm.
