Job summary

Base is hiring a Global Supply Manager to own sourcing and supplier relationships for home battery systems. You will run sourcing from RFQ to award, negotiate contracts, and ensure suppliers can scale with production.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics on new and existing products. You will build cost models, benchmark pricing, and back negotiations with data, while managing key supplier performance and risk across a global base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement in hardware/manufacturing.
• Track record negotiating contracts and managing suppliers through escalations, including at executive level.
• Strong cost modeling and Excel skills.
• Clear, direct written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).

About the Role

Base is hiring a Global Supply Manager to own sourcing and supplier relationships for our home battery systems. You'll run sourcing from RFQ to award, negotiate the contracts, and make sure suppliers can keep up as we scale production. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics on new and existing products.

What You’ll Do

• Run RFQs end to end: scope requirements, evaluate bids, and drive supplier selection through award.

• Build should-cost models to benchmark pricing, find cost-downs, and back up negotiations with data.

• Negotiate piece price, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements, with contracts in place before work starts.

• Own key supplier relationships: track performance, handle escalations, and build enough trust to move fast.

• Set commodity strategy across a global supply base, balancing cost, supply continuity, and risk.

• Get suppliers ready for production ramp and sustained manufacturing, covering capacity, lead times, and end-of-life.

• Present clear recommendations on awards, cost, and risk to engineering and executive leadership.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement in hardware manufacturing.

• Track record negotiating contracts and managing suppliers through escalations, including at the executive level.

• Strong cost modeling and Excel skills.

• Clear, direct written and verbal communication.

• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, about 25% of the time.

Preferred Skills

• Sourcing experience with board-level electronics such as passives, actives, and interconnects.

• Experience with MRP or ERP systems.

• Experience supporting a high-volume production ramp.

Our supply chain team sources components, runs manufacturing operations, and builds the supplier partnerships we need to make the lowest-cost, highest-quality home batteries at scale. Homeowners across the country rely on Base for whole-home backup and lower electricity bills. Our network of home batteries also helps keep the grid stable as demand climbs from AI, electrification, and extreme weather. We build in-house and expand at a speed and cost incumbents can't match, and this team makes that possible.
