Job summary

Avient Corporation seeks a Manager of Supply Chain Planning to lead across supply chain processes, optimize inventory, and ensure service levels and working capital targets. The role partners with business units, procurement, logistics, and finance to drive end-to-end planning and performance.

Requires 5+ years in supply chain planning, strong MRP/ERP experience (SAP/Oracle), and leadership capabilities to guide planning teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, logistics, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, materials management, or manufacturing operations preferred, including leadership experience.
• Strong experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar manufacturing planning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to balance customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, and material availability.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, lead times, constraints, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Experience managing inventory levels and driving improvements in inventory accuracy, service levels, and working capital.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret demand, inventory, capacity, and production data.
• Ability to lead and develop planning or supply chain teams while establishing clear priorities and accountability.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to partner with operations, procurement, customer service, sales, logistics, and finance.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean manufacturing, S&OP, or similar planning processes, preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• APICS/ASCM certification, such as CPIM or CSCP, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Global Supply Chain Strategy – Inventory Management, Capacity Management, Sourcing.
• Achieving Business Unit objectives – KPI’s.
• Tactical raw material purchasing and inventory management.
• Finished goods material from order entry through conversion for all customers.
• Delivery performance to the customers globally.
• Under general direction, ensure that production schedules are current and sequenced for maximum productivity and to fulfill customer delivery requirements.
• Oversee materials and inventories for assigned facilities.
• Check production activity to provide a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Regularly monitor and address Non-Working, Slow-Moving (NWSM) inventory.
• Evaluate/incorporate/generate ideas for new SAP technology to improve overall business unit operations.
• Works with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, design changes, and material/labor shortages.
• Maintain production scheduling and record keeping in SAP.
• Coordinate with suppliers to have raw material available for scheduled production.
• Resolve raw material shipment discrepancies/issues.
• Communicate and coordinate with suppliers, Avient business unit planning, logistics and warehouse operations.
• May assist with evaluating production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tool and manpower requirements.
