Job summary

Balanced Body is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement activities, develop purchasing strategies, and oversee the purchasing team in Sacramento.

You will coordinate with internal teams, negotiate with suppliers for best cost/quality, and implement replenishment methods to improve on-time delivery and inventory turns. This on-site role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fluid production environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 10+ years of supply chain experience; 5+ years managerial experience in manufacturing atmosphere.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Develop visual standard work for major processes and ensure compliance.
  • Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Where-Used reports.

Responsibilities

  • Spearheading the execution of supply chain strategies that support objectives for material cost reduction, supplier OTD, inventory reduction, supplier quality and supplier lead times
  • Leading efforts to develop, implement and manage alternate material replenishment methods that increase turns year over year while supporting 100% customer on-time delivery and lead-time reduction
  • Responsible for site tactical procurement activities, receiving, stockroom and shipping departments to include all assigned personnel and data integrity in the system
  • Responsible for all issues affecting on-time delivery and quality of product from our suppliers
  • Develops and leads a team of buyer-planners and material handlers
  • Implementing and maintaining robust alternative material replenishment systems that maximize inventory turns while supporting 100% on-time delivery and quality and continuous lead-time reduction goals
  • Coordinate meetings and publish minutes to keep Value Stream and Site management informed of status on any issues that may cause delays in shipments
  • Support new product introduction procurement requirements

Job description

Balanced body is hiring! We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to handle our company’s procurement activities. The Supply Chain Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.


To be successful in the position you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding Supply Chain Manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible cost/quality balance with suppliers.


You will be leading a small purchasing team whose focus will be on placing purchase orders and following up on open and late supplier deliveries. You should be comfortable in a fluid environment where project priorities shift often. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader that is strong, stable and environmentally sensitive. The functions of this position demand consistency, high attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.


What you'll do

Requirements


What you'll bring


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field

  • One or more secondary certifications preferred (i.e. APICS, CSCP, CPSM, etc.)

  • 10+ years of supply chain experience; 5+ years managerial experience in manufacturing atmosphere

  • Develop visual standard work for all major processes and ensure compliance of same

  • Develop, implement and support processes that continually reduce the number of transactions required to maintain and move materials and information flows

  • Monitor supplier scrap, being fully responsible for all valid in-house rejects of purchased parts

  • Coordinate all technical communications with suppliers & obtain corrective actions in a timely manner

  • Build a highly skilled, highly regarded and motivated customer focused team

  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

  • Knowledge of international markets and related logistics highly preferred

  • Strong MS Office skills, ERP/MRP skills – MS Dynamics Business Central experience a plus

  • Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Where-Used reports

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Positive and professional demeanor, detail oriented, self-starter

Fully On-site in Sacramento, CA 95828


Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
