Job summary

BARNES is offering a data-driven internship within our global supply chain team in Warren, MI. You will collaborate across Purchasing, Planning, IT, Legal and HR to complete real-world analytics on PO metrics, spend and market indices while supporting supplier data initiatives.

You'll build skills in Excel, Power BI, and training content creation using Articulate 360, while helping maintain data integrity and support lean, value-driven processes.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
• Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and automation opportunities.
• Familiarity with intermediate Excel functions (V-lookup, Pivot tables) and advanced (What-If, Power Query).
• Familiarity with Power BI basic functions; able to learn Articulate 360 for training creation.
• Innovator embracing lean enterprise principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Global Purchasing, Planning, IT, Legal & HR on assignments.
• Analyze PO metrics, spend, RFQs, and market indices.
• Support ASL and supplier portal implementation.
• Maintain supply chain data and data integrity.
• Support data collection and creation of customer evaluations and scorecards.
• Assist internship projects and present findings to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
