Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an experienced leader for Global Strategic Sourcing in Cambridge, MA.

The role involves developing multi-year category strategies, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk management across R&D, CMC, and Quality functions. You will lead end-to-end sourcing activities, onboard new suppliers for emerging modalities, and collaborate with Legal to finalize contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a technical discipline.
• MBA or MS desired.
• Procurement certifications (CPSM, MCIPS) desired.
• 10+ years in sourcing/procurement.
• 3+ years in biopharma development/manufacturing sourcing.
• Proven track record delivering savings and supplier performance improvements.
• Experience in entrepreneurial, fast-paced environments.
• Ability to build supplier ecosystems for emerging tech.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to influence across matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies to optimize cost and quality.
• Manage pipeline of sourcing initiatives with key stakeholders.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFI/RFP and contracts.
• Build relationships with executives to influence supply network strategies.
• Drive supplier performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring supply continuity and quality.
