Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Global Category Manager within our Supply Chain Management organization to shape and execute global category strategies for power transformers and related components.

You will lead supplier negotiations, forecasting, cost improvements, and governance across global teams, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a project-oriented supply chain and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function within a project environment.
• Experience working with Power Transformers.
• Fluent English; additional languages an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global category strategies aligned with business priorities and future supply requirements.
• Manage supplier forecasting, cost budgets, and savings forecasts to support operational and financial targets.
• Negotiate global supplier agreements, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Design and implement cost reduction initiatives and processes to achieve financial goals.
• Conduct benchmarking activities, including cost baseline studies, should-cost modeling, and global price database initiatives.
• Communicate category strategies and progress with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution.
• Define governance processes and steer project sourcing strategies in collaboration with procurement teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function within a project environment.
• Experience working with Power Transformers.
• Excellent communication and networking skills, with sound problem-solving capabilities.
• Technical interest and ability to solve complex problems independently.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are considered an advantage.
