Job summary

Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, seeks a Senior Analyst in its FP&A group to strengthen the CQRA function for current-quarter forecasting. You will integrate financial analysis, operational inputs, and business insights to improve visibility and decision-making across global operations.

In this role, you will perform detailed CQRA analyses, reconcile regional bookings, maintain historical metrics, and communicate forecast risks and opportunities to senior partners.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, FP&A, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills for analyses and executive summaries.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis to senior stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work across global time zones.

Responsibilities

• Perform CQRA analysis covering orders, revenue, and margin updates.
• Consolidate and reconcile monthly bookings results with regional teams.
• Manage historical metrics repositories and analyze trends.
• Conduct bridge analysis across forecast, results, and budget.
• Identify forecast risks and opportunities; communicate movements.
• Drive process and tool improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Leverage AI tools to generate KPI reporting and forecasting insights.

The Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization is seeking a Senior Analyst to contribute to the Current Quarter Revenue Assurance (CQRA) team. The role strengthens visibility, confidence, and decision-making across current-quarter forecasting activities by connecting financial analysis, operational inputs, and business insights. Success in this position contributes to informed forecasting outcomes and cross-functional alignment across global operations.

How you will make an impact:

• Perform CQRA analysis covering orders, revenue, and margin updates
• Consolidate and reconcile monthly bookings results with regional teams
• Manage historical metrics repositories and analyze current and historical trends to inform future activity
• Conduct bridge analysis across forecast, results, and budget comparisons
• Identify and communicate forecast risk, upside opportunities, cover requirements, and forecast movements across operational factors
• Drive process and tool improvements that increase efficiency and forecast accuracy
• Leverage AI tools, including Co-Pilot and related solutions, to generate KPI reporting, trend analytics, and forecasting insights

The must haves:

• Education: University degree in Finance (FP&A), Supply Chain Operations, or a related field
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands within time-sensitive environments
• Application of business acumen, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration
• Utilization of advanced Excel and PowerPoint to create analyses, executive summaries, and decision-support materials
• Communication of complex analysis to senior stakeholders and business partners
• Flexibility to accommodate global time zones as needed

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Anaplan modeling and its broader environment
• Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboard creation
• Working knowledge of Oracle, CPODS, Salesforce
• Experience working in a global, matrixed environment

Canada: 73,000 to 116,000

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
