Summer Analysts applying for this Global Quantitative Data Analytics Programme will join the Global Risk Management team.

Global Risk Management (GRM) is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management for Bank of America, ensuring the company pursues its Responsible Growth strategy through strong risk management practices. GRM provides independent second-line oversight of risk-taking activities across the enterprise, assessing and effectively challenging risks while developing, validating, and implementing risk management measures that support effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and decision-making.

Programme Overview

The Global Quantitative Data Summer Analyst Programme is a 10-week internship designed to provide insight into how quantitative analysis, data and model-related activities support effective risk management across Bank of America.

As a Summer Analyst, you will gain exposure to how GRM uses analytical techniques, data-driven insights, and model lifecycle processes to identify, measure, monitor and manage risk. Depending on your team alignment, this may include exposure to areas such as model development for enterprise models, model risk management, model use, risk analytics, data analysis, stress testing, scenario analysis, or reporting.

Summer Analysts are given meaningful responsibilities, contributing to real business challenges while developing analytical judgement, problem-solving skills and stakeholder communication. Projects may involve interpreting data, assessing methodologies, documenting analysis, improving processes, or helping teams translate technical information and analytical findings into practical risk insights and decision-making.

The programme offers opportunities across quantitative, analytical, and data-oriented roles. You will build relationships across GRM, collaborate with business partners and gain exposure to senior leaders while developing skills for a career in quantitative and analytical risk management.

Training and Development

Supporting your development is a key priority, with formal training at the start of the programme complemented by on-the-job learning, speaker events, and mentorship opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting analysis of data, models, methodologies or risk processes to help inform business and risk management decisions
  • Applying quantitative, analytical or problem-solving skills to projects aligned to your assigned team
  • Helping interpret data, trends or model outputs and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Supporting activities across the model lifecycle, which may include development, validation, implementation, monitoring, documentation or use of models, depending on team alignment
  • Conducting research and analysis using internal and/or external information to support risk assessments, scenario analysis, reporting or governance
  • Contributing to process improvements, documentation, controls or analytical tools that help teams work more effectively
  • Partnering with Risk Managers, quantitative specialists, technology partners and business stakeholders to understand how risk is identified, measured and managed
  • Building relationships across Global Risk through project work, networking, mentoring, speaker sessions and development opportunities
Eligibility
  • Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2027 and July 2028. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer.
  • On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
  • Must be available to join the programme from June 2027 to August 2027

Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full time employment to commence in July 2028; some lines of business may also offer the opportunity of a January or April start date. You must be available to join on one of these start dates if offered, unfortunately we are unable to offer deferrals.
