Job summary

Merck is seeking a QMS Global Quality Compliance Director who reports to the Associate Vice President, Global QMS and leads quality governance across operating units and sites. The role sits on the QMS Leadership team and guides councils (GPO, GVO, GBO), linking site teams, OpU leaders, topic leads, and the Divisional Quality Council.

You will drive quality strategy, trend interpretation, risk identification, timely remediation, and broad QMS improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in quality, compliance, quality systems, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong executive communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Experience leading quality councils or governance forums.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and oversight of global quality councils (GPO, GVO, GBO) with a strategic focus on risk, performance, and decisions.
• Influence senior leaders to align on priorities, resourcing, timelines, and corrective actions.
• Oversee QMS documents and site feedback for review and approval.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional execution.
