Job summary

Advantest America Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Product Engineer for the Device Handling (DH) team.

You will own the full lifecycle of DH products—handlers and probers—from customer engagement and requirements through development, deployment, validation, and post-sales support. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in product engineering, equipment development, or related technical roles.
• Experience supporting Automated Test Equipment (ATE), such as V93000 platforms, P&P handlers and probers.
• Experience with thermal systems, evaluation methods, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Capture, document, and communicate product handling requirements to R&D; convert customer requirements into development plans.
• Develop and maintain specifications for DH platforms and product families.
• Support design, prototyping, validation, and DFMA activities; drive design improvements and reliability.
