Job summary

Ball Corporation seeks a Chemical Specialist Launch Team to drive process performance across start-ups, new lines, and conversions in the EMEA region. This hands-on role emphasizes chemical processing excellence and close collaboration with plant teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive can manufacturing experience, a chemical engineering background, and strong troubleshooting skills, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a CPO or CPM.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline is advantageous.
• Fluent English and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Lead process performance and optimization during start-ups, new builds, and line conversions.
• Perform specialized process adjustments to improve efficiency, quality, and environmental performance.
• Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex process and equipment issues.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure reliable front-end processing equipment operation.
• Train site teams in process understanding and performance standards.
• Support emergency breakdown recovery, size conversions, and capability building across sites.
• Identify waste reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Process Expert, you will play a key role in supporting start-ups, new line installations, and line conversions across the EMEA region. This position is focused on driving performance, process stability, and operational excellence within chemical processing areas while partnering closely with plant teams and project stakeholders. A critical success factor for this role is deep hands-on experience in can manufacturing environments.

Lead process performance and optimization activities during start-ups, new builds, and line conversions.

Perform specialized process and chemical adjustments to improve efficiency, quality, and environmental performance.

Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex process and equipment-related issues.

Provide technical leadership and support to ensure reliable operation of front-end processing equipment.

Train and coach site teams in process understanding, performance standards, and autonomous operation.

Support emergency breakdown recovery, size conversions, and capability building across manufacturing sites.

Identify waste reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement and preventive maintenance initiatives.

Proven can manufacturing experience is essential, including at least 3 years of experience as a CPO or CPM

Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline would be considered an advantage

Strong hands-on expertise with washers, wastewater treatment systems, soluble oil systems, filtration systems, and cooling towers.

Demonstrated capability in equipment setup, troubleshooting, process optimization, and chemical process control.

Ability to train, coach, and transfer technical knowledge to operational teams; Train-the-Trainer certification is advantageous .

Experience supporting line launches, rebuilds, or conversion projects is preferred.

Strong analytical skills, continuous improvement mindset, flexibility to travel extensively, and fluency in English.

Work Environment: Please note that this role can be based in any eligible Ball manufacturing location within EMEA.
Hiring Range: Spain - 40,500 – 58,320 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range.
Incentive Plan: This position is eligible to participate in Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
