Job summary

Micron Technology, a global leader in memory and storage solutions, seeks a Principal Category Manager for Capital Equipment to drive global sourcing strategy for Etch, Deposition, CMP, and related equipment. You will partner with engineering and operations to enhance cost, performance, and supply continuity, influencing executive stakeholders across the organization.

The role requires strong commercial leadership, deep market expertise, and a track record of delivering multi-year cost savings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years Experience in capital equipment procurement, category management, or semiconductor engineering with Metrology.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead global category strategies for capital equipment, including supplier selection, sourcing models, and long-term roadmap alignment.
• Conduct market intelligence analysis, including supplier capability mapping, technology trends, pricing models, and cost curves.
• Lead executive-level supplier engagement, including strategic reviews, performance management, and escalation handling.
• Negotiate complex, multi-year global agreements covering pricing, capacity, service, and lifecycle costs.
• Apply total cost of ownership (TCO), should-cost models, and benchmarking to drive cost savings and value creation.
• Partner with Technology Development, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
• Drive supply base optimization, including dual sourcing strategies to reduce risk and improve resilience.
• Mentor and guide team members while leading high-impact global initiatives as a senior individual contributor.
