Job summary

iCapital is seeking a Payroll professional to support the Global Payroll Team and manage in-house and outsourced payrolls across multiple jurisdictions. You will ensure timely, accurate payroll processing, support year-end activities, and coordinate with service partners while handling sensitive employee data.

The role offers hybrid work with in-office Monday-Thursday and flexible remote work on Fridays, with a base salary commensurate with experience and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance or accounting or related field.
• CPP designation strongly preferred.
• Experience in multi-state/global payroll and payroll compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Global Payroll (US, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan).
• Reconcile changes affecting pay: salary adjustments, location changes, leaves, bonuses, deductions, and one-time payments.
• Review and finalize timesheets for US non-exempt employees.
• Manage pay inputs such as garnishments and deduction corrections.
• Liaise with payroll service partners and handle ad-hoc requests.
• Reconcile and approve payrolls timely in partnership with Corporate Finance.
• Manage state employment tax requirements with tax providers and global filings.
• Assist with global year-end processes and audits (including 401(k) and workers’ comp).
• Be first point of contact for payroll issues; monitor email/ticketing and respond clearly.
• Adopt new payroll software and improve processes.

About The Role

iCapital is seeking a motivated Payroll professional to join the growing Corporate Finance team. This role will assist the Global Payroll Team in managing the company’s current in-house and outsourced payrolls, provide payroll insight and services to employees and partners, and help execute related processes and payroll data management. This individual will gain experience for a global payroll career that rewards versatility, and strong detail-orientation. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate on important projects within Corporate Finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Global Payroll (US, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Portugal, Switzerland, and Japan).
• Reconcile all changes that affect pay which include salary adjustments, location changes, leaves, and returns, bonuses and commissions, deductions, and one-time payments such as referral awards, relocation stipends, and severance payments.
• Review and finalize timesheets for a small population of US non-exempt employees.
• Manage other pay inputs such as garnishments and deduction corrections as needed.
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with payroll service partners, including correspondence, ad-hoc requests, escalation, and troubleshooting.
• Assist the Global Payroll team with reconciling and approving payrolls timely and accurately, in partnership with Corporate Finance.
• Manage ongoing state employment tax requirements with tax providers and any other global compliance filings and requirements
• Assist with global year-end processes to ensure all are accurate and timely.
• Coordinate data for audit responses for periodic internal and external payroll audits and compliance reporting, including 401(k) and Workers Compensation.
• Be the initial point of contact for all payroll-related issues from employees. Monitor a payroll email inbox, ticketing service and educate employees with clear, helpful responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in finance, accounting, or related field of study
• Certified Payroll Certification (CPP) designation is strongly preferred
• Dayforce experience is strongly preferred
• Experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role managing multi-state payroll. Global experience a plus
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
• Proficiency in using payroll software and related tools; experience with automated payroll systems is highly desirable
• Exceptional diligence and accuracy in handling sensitive data
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll concepts to employees and stakeholders
• Able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with professionalism and integrity
• High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to evolving payroll practices and technologies

Benefits

• The base salary range for this role is $ 90,000 to $ 130,000.
