Job summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) seeks a Global Operations Network Manager in Neenah, WI to lead the enterprise WAN/SD‑WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi, and GCP networking environments. You will drive IBN and AIOps adoption and guide a distributed network engineering team across regions.

Responsibilities include delivering EVPN‑VXLAN leaf‑spine fabrics, Network as Code, and collaboration with OT security to protect shop-floor networks; you will manage vendor relationships and SLAs in a contract setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Experience leading SD-WAN transformations and SASE/ZTNA deployments.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud networking (Shared VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Router).
• Experience designing EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine topologies and right-sizing data center networks.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Git/GitOps).
• Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MP-BGP, VXLAN, IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Lead transitions toward IBN and AIOps for IT operations.
• Optimize low-latency connectivity between on‑prem, factory-edge, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Deliver EVPN‑VXLAN data center fabrics and optimize on‑prem hardware footprints.
• Drive Network as Code with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and GitOps workflows.
• Collaborate with manufacturing OT security to deploy and segment shop-floor networks.
• Direct and mentor a global network engineering team.
• Manage contracts, SLAs, and relationships with carriers, providers, and vendors.

Job description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Global Operations Network Manager for a contract position with a Global Technology Solutions Provider located in Neenah, WI.

This is a strategic technical leadership role responsible for the engineering and operational evolution of a core enterprise networking ecosystem. The ideal candidate will lead solutions spanning a global software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) connectivity, Intent-Based Networking (IBN), and factory-edge/operational technology (OT) environments. This leader will help modernize the digital backbone, right-size data center fabrics, and ensure seamless, zero-downtime connectivity across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle and 24/7 operational performance of enterprise WAN, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, and Google Cloud Platform cloud networking environments
• Drive the transition toward Intent-Based Networking (IBN) and artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps)
• Optimize resilient, low-latency connectivity between on-premises sites, factory-edge nodes, and Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Router, Shared VPCs, SASE, and ZTNA frameworks
• Deliver modern EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine data center fabrics and manage the optimization of on-premises hardware footprints
• Lead a Network as Code strategy, driving automated change management through Terraform, Ansible, Python, and GitOps workflows
• Partner with manufacturing and OT security teams to deploy, segment, and protect shop-floor networks using the Purdue Model
• Direct and mentor a team of high-performing network engineers across regions
• Manage commercial contracts, SLAs, and relationships with global ISP carriers, telecom providers, colocation facilities, and hardware vendors

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience in enterprise network engineering required
• Proven track record leading enterprise-wide SD-WAN transformations (Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto Networks) and SASE/ZTNA deployments (Prisma)
• Deep functional and technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform cloud-native networking, including Shared VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Router, and VPC Service Controls
• Demonstrated experience designing EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine topologies and right-sizing hybrid/on-premises data center networks
• Proficiency managing network infrastructure through automation pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Git/GitOps
• Expert knowledge of core protocols including BGP, OSPF, MP-BGP, VXLAN overlays, and IPv4/IPv6 enterprise addressing schemes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired skills:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT
• 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role overseeing distributed global teams
• Experience with industrial/manufacturing OT network security concepts (IEC 62443, industrial firewalls)
• Experience with Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) and observability tools such as ThousandEyes, Dynatrace, or Wireshark
• Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Network Engineer or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco Enterprise Networking solutions, including Cisco ACI and Cisco Catalyst Center
• Experience managing enterprise-grade Cisco Voice/Unified Communications (UC) architectures
• Proficiency with Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and security management platforms

Pay range: up to $96.42 per hour
