Job summary

PetroChina International (America), Inc. is seeking an NGL/LPG Market Analyst to conduct fundamental analysis for Natural Gas Liquids, aligning with PCI's trading strategies to optimize the Global NGL Portfolio across US and international markets.

The role requires following US and international NGLs and Olefins markets, forecasting supply/demand, and modeling export flows. Strong data analytics and communication skills are essential to support trading desks and strategy teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, energy studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years related experience in NGL trading/analysis or equivalent market experience.
• Knowledge of NGL fundamentals and US trading flows.
• Strong analytical skills with data analytics software (Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of market databases such as Platts, Argus, Bloomberg and Reuters systems and EIA reports.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to take initiative and be innovative.

Responsibilities

• Closely follow and analyze US domestic and international NGLs and Olefins markets.
• Forecast short, medium, and long-term NGLs and Olefins supply/demand balance in the US.
• Monitor geopolitical events, weather, infrastructure, and policy changes on NGL markets.
• Identify emerging market trends and provide insights to commercial, trading, and strategy teams.
• Create models to monitor export flows and arbs from the US.
• Create and maintain balances and models to analyze market drivers.
• Support the growth of PetroChina's NGLs and Olefins trading in the US, Latin and South America.
• Contribute to development of business contracts and evaluate new opportunities.
• Support traders with ad hoc projects and management reports.
• Comply with PetroChina policies and regulatory requirements.
