Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and operate secure server clusters, diagnose hardware and network connectivity issues, and coordinate repairs across global data centers.

You will travel up to 60% domestically, collaborate with field technicians and partners, and ensure high SLA targets while maintaining Akamai's resilient, scalable network platform.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
• Experience with Datacenter operations and protocols, network technologies, Security concepts, Unix/Linux internals, distributed systems, and systems design.
• Solid organizational skills with scheduling and operational planning experience
• Able to travel up to 60% domestically within the U.S.
• Must undergo or possess a USG Tier 3 background investigation

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of Akamai products and services
• Travel to datacenters to install and maintain hardware assets
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor network connectivity issues across layers 1–3
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployment projects and maintenance
• Work with field technicians, ISPs and partners for installation and fulfillment
• Monitor, triage and resolve maintenance tickets and uphold SLA targets
• Maintain high SLA targets and robust uptime
