Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is seeking a Global Development Medical Director with a focus on Cardiovascular/Renal or Metabolic dysfunction. You will design, monitor and report individual trials to determine benefits and risks for global label indications and pricing, upholding high ethical standards and regulatory compliance.

You will drive medical strategy, safety oversight and collaboration across regions, with in-depth expertise in GCP, regulatory requirements, and investigator engagement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized medical school with an M.B.B.S. or M.D. degree.
• 3+ years in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration across countries and cultures.
• Fluent in English, with strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and scientific leadership for design, initiation, execution and interpretation of clinical trials.
• Deliver medical information and clarifications to regulators, ethics committees, marketing companies, investigators and sites.
• Oversee medical and ethical components of studies in compliance with GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review study documents (protocols, amendments, SAP, ICF, CRFs, safety and risk monitoring plans).
• Monitor safety at the study level, including AE/SAE processes and data review, escalating to the GCH when needed.
• Enable international investigator meetings and support regional marketing activities in medical capacity.
• Approve the Clinical Study Report with GCH and lead its production.
