Job summary

PRI is seeking an auditor position in materials testing, ideal for retirees or consultants with expertise in chemical and mechanical test methods, calibration procedures, relevant industry standards, processing, inspection and testing. The role emphasizes travel and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge.

Auditors travel domestically and internationally, enjoy a flexible schedule (1–2 audits monthly for some, weekly for others) and are compensated with a daily rate plus travel expenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience as a technician or engineer in a testing lab (aerospace preferred).
• Seven years auditing experience in aerospace/defense.
• Knowledge of aerospace and defense quality system requirements.
• Familiarity with military and industry specifications (ASTM, S-400).
• Experience with Metallography/Micro-indentation.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025.
