Qualifications

• Functional Knowledge: Demonstrates depth and breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field.

Responsibilities

• Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; analyzes make vs buy and coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Leads Materials Core Team and coordinates project deliverables; collaborates with engineering to interpret requirements.
• Creates, releases and updates project materials strategy with limited supervision.
• Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; may negotiate contracts; assesses supplier risk.
• Coordinates source selection, specification creation and price negotiation; manages landed costs and KPI tracking.
• Executes commercialization (transition) materials plan and change control process; ensures cost objectives and resolves quality issues.
• Works with engineering to identify long-lead parts and develop supplier road maps; supports Should Cost analysis.
• Mediates with quality and engineering to resolve supplier quality issues; escalates when needed.
