Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics or Commerce and 0-2 years of related experience.
• Series 7 and 63 is required.
• Longstanding relationships with key buyside clients.
• Thorough understanding of the financial markets and market influences, including general current affairs.
• Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients and staff.
• Ability to relay complex news/developments concisely.

Responsibilities

• Assist the IG desk with company analysis and trade ideas; provide daily marketing product for sales to discuss with clients.
• Provide credit research and a relative value assessment across different credits and sectors.
• Collaborate with credit analysts in Toronto to share macro developments affecting multiple credits.
• As the U.S. IG desk grows, oversee analysts in additional sectors.
• Position correctly with the trading desk to maximize profit and differentiate CIBC.
