Job summary

Watts & Associates is assisting a renowned Am Law 50 global full-service law firm in San Francisco, CA, seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate. The role involves leading elements of corporate M&A matters and collaborating with partners and senior lawyers on high-value transactions.

The successful candidate will handle complex domestic and cross-border deals, with ownership of diligence, drafting and closing workstreams, and close interaction with clients and deal teams in a dynamic

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of substantive corporate M&A experience.
• Experience handling sophisticated acquisitions and dispositions.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills on key deal documents.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate acquisition agreements and related documents.
• Manage due diligence and coordinate workstreams.
• Advise on transaction structure and execution.
• Support signing, closing and post-closing matters.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (tax, finance, antitrust, benefits, regulatory).
• Communicate directly with clients and advisers.
• Track timelines and deliverables, mitigate risk.
• Contribute to deal strategy and commercial solutions.
