Job summary

3M is seeking a Global Key Account Manager for Semiconductors to lead strategic relationships with Tier One manufacturers and drive design wins across global accounts.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, product marketing and regional sales to expand the customer base, accelerate product adoption, and deliver on sales quotas while utilizing Salesforce to track progress. This role requires up to 50% travel and working from key locations in the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering completed before start.
  • Master’s degree in Science/Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience engaging with senior R&D and manufacturing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage global semiconductor accounts and build Tier One relationships.

  • Managing key global accounts across a diversified portfolio in the fast-growing Semiconductor industry through cutting edge technological solutions that advance our customers
  • Understanding industry trends, necessary solutions to address gaps for customer needs and communicating the needs to the 3M organization.
  • Developing customer strategies to grow the business by addressing customer needs through available core competencies of the 3M organization.
  • Lead customer engagement and business development activity with a Tier One Semiconductor Manufacturer developing excellent strategic relationships with R&D teams to understand customers’ roadmap to drive design wins, expand business, and increase account influence in a technical sales environment
  • Partner and collaborate with technical teams on product acceleration.
  • Strong Executive interaction and presentation skills
  • Implementing the customer strategies aligned with the global division strategy to develop & penetrate key applications including new products and existing portfolio in entire value chain of Semiconductor accounts through strong key account management skills.
  • Aligning with US and Global EMSD leadership team to set and execute operating plans to support business growth at key accounts
  • Supporting the creation of solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems through customer collaboration, ingenuity, creativity, innovation and strong analytical skills, Working collaboratively across the global organization on global accounts through multiple geographies, cultures and time zones.
  • Utilizing “Salesforce” as a tool to effectively communicate the account needs to internal organization, track progress and manage the account to deliver solutions to customers on time.
  • Achieving Sales Quota and price attainment as per the Operating plan

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills And Expertise
  • Bachelor’s or higher‑level degree in Science or Engineering (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of experience in materials for the semiconductor device fabrication area in a customer facing role in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, product marketing, and regional sales teams, with the ability to influence without formal authority
  • Two (2) years facing at least one key strategic device manufacturer in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, Valid Driver’s license
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role
  • Master's degree in Science/Engineering preferred
  • Experience in CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization)
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to support customer with product introductions (new and existing), supply of demand and logistics at Key accounts
  • Hard skills include managing big Key accounts, pricing, contract management
  • Soft Skills include Growth mindset, Listening, verbal communication, collaboration both internally and externally, conflict management, results focused, entrepreneurial mindset, negotiation skills

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $221,591 - $270,834, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
