Job summary

Sweeney Conrad seeks a Senior International Tax Manager to lead multi-jurisdictional tax engagements, advise on cross-border planning, and support global compliance for clients and entities. You will direct complex projects, mentor staff, and interact with clients across jurisdictions.

The role emphasizes strategic tax planning, collaboration with service teams, and management of international tax matters in a growing practice under Ascend’s platform.

Qualifications

• CPA or EA license required (CPA preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Minimum 8 years of tax experience, with ~5–8 years in International Tax.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing engagements, reviewing returns, developing client relationships, and mentoring staff.
• Experience with investments involving foreign mutual funds and reporting for U.S. entities.
• Knowledge of Form 5471 is a plus.
• Strong communication and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise multinational enterprises on global tax planning and cross-border implications.
• Advise on treaty planning for inbound/outbound investments.
• Develop international tax strategies compliant with U.S. and international laws.
• Oversee international tax compliance, including filings for foreign subsidiaries and entities.
• Advise US-only enterprises and high-net-worth individuals on tax planning and returns.
• Monitor changes in international tax law and communicate impacts.
