Job summary

World Vision International is seeking an Associate General Counsel in California to provide strategic legal guidance to enable the World Vision Partnership to fulfill its mission while minimizing legal risk. You will partner with the General Counsel and the Legal Department to advise on governance, compliance, contracts, and cross-border matters.

A California Bar admission is preferred, but exceptional candidates with other jurisdictions may be considered.

Qualifications

• Must have US JD or foreign equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and research abilities with practical in-house advice.
• Experience with outside counsel and international matters is a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to World Vision International and the Partnership to ensure compliance with laws and acceptable legal risk.
• Coordinate with General Counsel and Legal Department to support mission delivery.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and international matters; advise on cross-border issues.
