Job summary

ManTech seeks a motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team at Fort Hood, Texas. The selected candidate will support maintenance for multiple vehicle families globally under the ALECS program.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 6 years of automotive maintenance experience, with the ability to pass a drug screening and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 years of automotive maintenance experience.
• Experience in maintenance operations on commercial or military equipment.

Responsibilities

• Research, plans, designs and develops new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
• Reviews contractor standards, specifications and other documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
• Designs, repairs or reviews gas and diesel engines, simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and/or instrumentation systems to meet specifications.
• Gathers and correlates basic data and performs routine engineering research and development assignments.
• Guides and assists technicians in fabrication and installation of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure conformance with design and customer specifications.
• May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to improve function.
• May review and correct drawings to ensure products meet engineering techniques and specifications.
• Physical abilities may be required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
