Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina invites applications for a Global Health Fellowship in the Department of Emergency Medicine. This one-year program trains graduates of Emergency Medicine residencies to become Global Health directors and leaders in Global Emergency Medicine, with opportunities to work in Masindi, Uganda, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Fellows will supervise students, lead journal clubs, develop research, and gain experience in tropical disease management

Responsibilities

• Practice clinical medicine of a global standard in resource-limited locations.
• Train and supervise medical students/residents in Global Health.
• Train and supervise medical students/residents in Emergency Medicine.
• Lead one to two global health journal clubs for resident global health track.
• Develop at least 1 research project with all aspects from conception to manuscript authorship.
• Learn to diagnose and treat tropical diseases and manage medication formulary.
