Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Economics or equivalent
  • 8+ years experience shaping and implementing value-adding pricing & market access strategies globally

  • Strong pricing and market access experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience managing stakeholders in governments, reimbursement agencies, and patient organizations

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic input to vision and development of world-class Cell Therapies
  • Own development and execution of global pricing, access, and reimbursement strategies for Cell Therapy products
  • Represent Cell Therapy in key review and decision-making committees
  • Integrate pricing and payer inputs into strategic plans and forecasts
  • Oversee development and implementation of pricing and reimbursement strategies
  • Maintain understanding of payer needs in key markets
  • Monitor pricing trends and implications for products
  • Educate internal partners on payer practices and regulations
  • Lead external payer policy shaping on key issues
  • Maintain knowledge of payer evidence requirements and developments

Job description

  • Provide strategic input to the vision and development of world-class Cell Therapies
  • Own development and execution of global pricing, access, and reimbursement strategies, plans, and tactics for AstraZeneca Cell Therapy products
  • Provide pricing and payer inputs into Therapeutic Area Strategies, Target Product Profiles, Clinical Development Plans, Integrated Development Plans, and Brand Plans
  • Represent Cell Therapy in key review and decision-making committees
  • Integrate pricing, value issues, and assumptions into product forecasts and quarterly reporting and analyst calls
  • Oversee development and implementation of global pricing and reimbursement strategies and deliverables
  • Maintain understanding of pricing and reimbursement needs of payers in key markets
  • Monitor pricing and reimbursement trends and assess implications for molecules and products
  • Educate internal partners and stakeholders on payer practices, drug pricing, reimbursement, legislation, and regulations
  • Lead external payer policy shaping on key issues
  • Maintain knowledge of payer evidence requirements and scientific, clinical, and commercial developments
  • Participate in external forums to advance AstraZeneca’s pricing and reimbursement reputation and expertise
  • Oversee and guide development of metrics for global pricing and reimbursement activities
  • Align priorities, activities, and progress across the assigned group and optimize resources against time, cost, and quality

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Health Economics or equivalent
  • 8+ years experience shaping and implementing value-adding Pricing & Market Access strategies globally
  • Extensive experience in leadership roles, including market access, commercial, government affairs, and medical
  • Strong experience in Pricing and Market Access within the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Significant experience in strategic management of stakeholders in Governments, Reimbursement Agencies, and Patient Organizations
  • Track record of successful in-market price negotiations across key markets
  • Above-market (global/regional) leadership experience
  • Commercial and/or development leadership of pre-launch and launch activities
  • Proven track record linking science and evidence generation to drive patient access through several payer archetypes
  • Proven track record attracting and developing talent and optimizing team performance in direct and matrixed leadership roles
  • Excellent knowledge of pricing and reimbursement landscape and HTA systems worldwide
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence the external environment
