Job summary

Siemens Energy in North Carolina is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Large Gas Turbine Combustion Design team. You will help design and deliver combustion components that power the world's energy infrastructure, tackling complex engineering challenges and ensuring on-time delivery of cutting-edge technology.

The role requires a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, 5–8+ years in mechanical design (gas turbine experience preferred), proficiency with Siemens NX, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 5–8+ years in mechanical design, preferably gas turbine combustion systems.
• Strong expertise in detailed component design, stack-up analysis, tolerancing, and GD&T.
• Proficient with Siemens NX and engineering documentation tools.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Support qualification of new global suppliers and reduce single-sourcing risks.
• Develop robust mechanical designs for gas turbine combustion components using CAD.
• Support products from concept through manufacturing and production readiness.
• Develop calculations, specifications, PMI drawings, and supporting docs.
• Collaborate with project management, aerodynamics, manufacturing, purchasing, and supplier teams.
• Provide technical guidance and on-site support to international manufacturing partners; travel to Asia/Europe as needed.
