Job summary

Conexus Food is seeking a detail-oriented Import Compliance Specialist to support our international sourcing and import operations in Chicago, IL. This onsite role partners with overseas suppliers, brokers, and internal teams to ensure all shipments meet CBP, FDA, USDA and other regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin and English, have 1+ year in import compliance or related fields, and be highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
• 1+ year of import compliance or related experience.
• Familiarity with HTS classifications, country of origin requirements, and Incoterms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure import regulations compliance (CBP, FDA, USDA) for shipments.
• Prepare, review, and maintain import documents (invoices, packing lists, B/L, origin certificates).
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and agencies for clearance.
• Verify HTS classifications and country of origin for products.
• Communicate with overseas suppliers (Mandarin) to obtain documentation and resolve issues.
• Monitor regulatory changes and support audits and inquiries.
