Job summary

Pyka is seeking a deployed flight test engineer to support development and commercial deployments of autonomous aircraft. You will set up initial missions in diverse locations abroad, train and support customers during operation, and test and deploy the aircraft of the future.

After two months of training in Dixon or Victoria Island, CA, you will be deployed at customer sites for 3–5 weeks increments. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, ability to standardize flight

Qualifications

• Experience flying UAVs or model aircraft or large multirotors.
• Familiarity with ground control and mission planning software.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, assembly, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and participate in international commercial deployments to support flight testing and training.
• Ensure continuous operations at customer sites with remote engineering support.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues arising at deployments with Pyka's engineering teams.
• Recommend new features and design changes to the team.
• Conduct fleet maintenance of aircraft, ground infrastructure, laptops and batteries.
• Test airframes for airworthiness after shipment to customers.
• Act as Pilot In Command or Ground Control Operator for UAVs.
• Lead or participate in ground and flight test events.
• Manage complex logistics in support of flight operations.
