Job summary

The Chief, Finance Branch at UNFPA leads global financial management to ensure IPSAS-based reporting, strong internal controls, and effective resource management. Based at UNFPA Headquarters in New York, you will guide a multidisciplinary team and report to the Comptroller and Director, DMS.

You will oversee financial statements, donor reports, ERP configurations, treasury operations and risk management, driving efficiency through policy and technology innovations.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of progressive experience in financial management or accounting positions, including supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of IPSAS or IFRS and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial operations in multinational settings.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the UNFPA financial framework and policies to support strategic plans.
• Oversee the annual financial closure process and prepare financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate IPSAS-based financial reporting and donor reports.
• Provide guidance to senior management on financial management matters.
• Lead branch efficiency improvements and technology-enabled finance solutions.
• Represent UNFPA in external meetings and inter-agency groups as required.
