Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Americas Field Service Winding Engineer to perform on-site inspection, testing and repair of HV generator windings at customer sites worldwide. You will conduct winding inspections, electrical testing, and mechanical access work to reach windings, coordinating with the team and delivering clear field reports.

The role requires hands-on experience with HV windings, strong problem solving and fluent English, and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in winding of electrical generators.
• Qualified through a recognized craft apprenticeship in armature winding on large HV rotating electrical machines.
• Experience working on various model generator windings.
• Competence in soldering, brazing, crimping and HV insulation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform windings inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
• Carry out basic mechanical strip-down of machines to access windings.
• Carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field.
• Conduct visual winding inspections of stator, rotor and excitation system.
• Perform on-site winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.
• Work with team on on-site stator strip and rewind operations.
• Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments as needed.
• Supervise and train internal and external customers.
• Interpret drawings and specs; prepare method statements and concise reports for customers.
• Attend technical meetings on site and at customers' premises.
• Carry out on-site risk assessments on every assignment.
