Job summary

Meta is seeking a Public Policy Manager to lead external affairs strategy and engagement with government officials, industry coalitions, and civil society. The role focuses on advocating Meta's positions on content governance, data privacy, competition, and emerging technology across legislative and regulatory environments.

You will coordinate with policy, legal, communications, and product teams while building a senior-level network of policymakers and stakeholders to shape regulatory outcomes

Qualifications

• 8+ years in public policy or related external affairs roles with government engagement
• Experience developing advocacy strategies on technology policy including content governance, data privacy, competition, or platform regulation
• Experience managing relationships with senior government officials, trade associations, or civil society organizations
• Experience drafting policy documents, position papers, regulatory submissions, or external advocacy materials
• Experience cross-functional collaboration across legal, communications, and product teams to align policy positions

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external affairs strategies with government officials, regulatory bodies, coalitions, and civil society
• Represent Meta in direct engagement with policymakers, legislative staff, and external coalitions on policy issues
• Lead cross-functional coordination across policy, legal, communications, and product teams
• Analyze legislative and regulatory developments to assess business impact and craft proactive policy responses
• Draft and review policy submissions, position papers, testimony, and advocacy materials for external audiences
• Build and maintain relationships with senior government officials and industry partners
• Identify policy risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies with regional/global policy teams
• Contribute to organizational strategy by setting goals for external affairs workstreams
• Leverage AI tools to improve policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, and advocacy material development
