Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Enterprise Architect to define and evolve the Innovative Medicine architecture strategy across R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, Data, AI, Cloud, Security, and Enterprise Platforms in a global, regulated organization.

You will lead a 20+ person architecture team, drive modernization, establish reference architectures and guardrails, align roadmaps with business goals, and mentor leaders while advancing GenAI-enabled practices.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of technology leadership with enterprise/sector architecture responsibility.
Experience leading global architecture teams across multiple domains, regions, or functions.
Expertise in cloud architecture, data platforms, AI/GenAI technologies, integration, cybersecurity, digital platforms, and enterprise applications.
Experience leading architecture governance, cross-sector collaboration, standards adoption, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
Experience leading architecture teams across large, global, regulated enterprises.
Understanding of pharmaceutical or healthcare value chains, including R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, Data, Digital, and customer-facing capabilities.
Experience defining enterprise architecture strategies, target-state blueprints, reference architectures, standards, governance models, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
Experience working with technology services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, engineering, product, and architecture teams.
Understanding of cloud platforms, data architecture, AI/ML platforms, systems integration, cybersecurity, digital channels, enterprise applications, and modern software engineering practices.
Ability to influence senior leaders, product leaders, platform owners, architects, engineers, and external partners.
Ability to balance enterprise standardization with sector-specific business needs and regulatory requirements.
Experience building architecture communities of practice, development of architecture talent, and driving adoption through influence.
Experience introducing modern architecture practices including GenAI-enabled blueprinting, documentation, standards automation, knowledge management, and design review acceleration.
Experience applying GenAI or AI-assisted methods to architecture practices preferred.
Experience in life sciences, healthcare, consumer health, medtech, supply chain, commercial, or other regulated global environment preferred.
Familiarity with TOGAF and modern product-centric delivery models preferred.
Critical thinking, systems thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, architecture governance, and executive communication capabilities

Responsibilities

Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategy across R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, Data, AI, Cloud, Security, and Platforms.
Develop future-state architecture blueprints and principles.
Drive modernization, platform simplification, and debt reduction.
Lead and develop a global architecture organization of 20+ architects.
Provide architecture leadership across multiple capabilities.
Establish data, process, platform patterns, standards, and security guardrails.
Align business and platform roadmaps with enterprise technology priorities.
Guide build, buy, reuse, modernization decisions.
Partner with Technology Services, ISRM, product, engineering, data, security, and leaders.
Lead architecture governance forums and oversee initiatives, platform investments, data products, and AI-enabled capabilities.
Define and monitor architecture benchmarks.
Advance GenAI-enabled architecture practices, automation, and knowledge assets.
Advise senior leaders on emerging technologies in enterprise forums and strategic partnerships.
