Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a senior employment counsel to join our San Francisco Bay Area team in a hybrid role that blends focused work time with in-person collaboration.

You will advise on employment matters across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, manage wage and hour compliance, diversify into investigations, executive compensation, equity programs, and cross-border transactions, partnering with People, Finance, and Legal teams.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of legal experience advising on employment matters.
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Experience handling sensitive employment matters, investigations, litigation, or agency actions.
• Strong writing and drafting skills for employment agreements and policies.
• Ability to assess risk and provide practical advice with discretion.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Advise People and business teams on employment matters across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
• Advise Payroll on wage and hour compliance, including classification and overtime.
• Manage employment disputes from demand to resolution, including litigation and arbitration.
• Conduct or oversee workplace investigations and advise on findings and remediation.
• Advise on executive compensation and employee benefits programs.
• Support equity compensation programs and related liquidity arrangements.
• Advise on employment, benefits, and executive compensation in M&A and transactions.
• Partner with People, Finance, Equity, and business teams to build practical programs and guidance.
• Monitor legal developments across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America and advise on impact.
