Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leader to oversee global EHS performance, compliance, and risk management across a major business area in the United States. You will partner with senior leaders to embed EHS into strategy, operations, and daily decision-making while building capabilities across site and above-site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, environmental, occupational safety, or Industrial hygiene required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 15 years EHS experience with at least 10 years in supervisory/managerial roles.
• International experience and ability to travel globally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for EHS performance, compliance, and risk management across a global business area.
• Lead development and execution of innovative EHS programs to prevent incidents and strengthen regulatory compliance.
• Partner with senior leaders to integrate EHS into business strategy and daily activities.
• Build organizational capability by mentoring site and above-site EHS professionals.
• Lead a global team of EHS professionals and drive operational excellence and risk mitigation.
• Staffing, mentoring, and developing EHS professionals to ensure compliance.
• Develop programs to prevent catastrophic safety and environmental events.
