Bausch + Lomb, a leading eye health company, seeks a Director of Surgical Clinical Development to shape global clinical strategies for ophthalmic devices from feasibility to post-market studies.

The role partners with R&D, Regulatory, and Quality to drive evidence generation for regulatory submissions and market access in multiple regions. U.S. locations include potential Mississippi operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in clinical/biomedical science.
• 7+ years in medical device clinical development.
• Strong knowledge of GCP and ISO 14155.
• Experience with global regulatory submissions (FDA/EU/PMDA).
• Experience in ophthalmic surgery or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead global clinical development strategy for surgical device programs from early-stage through post-market.
• Oversee regulatory submissions ensuring alignment with FDA, EU MDR/CE, China NMPA and PMDA pathways.
• Design and oversee clinical trials including pivotal and post-approval studies across markets.
• Develop and author regulatory and clinical documents (investigation plans, protocols, reports, submission dossiers).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial to translate insights into product development and go-to-market strategies.
• Manage budgets and resources; ensure timely data submissions to regulators.
• Cultivate relationships with investigators, KOLs, and regulatory experts in surgical ophthalmology.
