Job summary

Ball Horticultural Company in the United States seeks a Global Director of Product Development to lead Ball FloraPlant's strategy for vegetative annual genetics. This role oversees development, evaluation, and commercialization, coordinating with global breeding, product management, supply chain, and sales to strengthen the portfolio and drive long-term growth.

You will define priorities, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver differentiated genetics that meet market needs

Qualifications

• B.S. in horticultural or agricultural science.
• 10+ years of experience in plant breeding, product development, or horticultural research with leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture of innovation and professional development within the product management team.
• Develop and execute the long-term product development strategy.
• Prioritize multiple development initiatives balancing resources, timelines and commercial opportunities.
• Define and monitor KPIs for the Product Development organization.
• Lead greenhouse and outdoor trialing programs and select new introductions aligned with market needs.
• Advance research techniques for new variety development and leverage internal capabilities (Ball Helix).
• Partner with global breeding to deliver project goals across functions.
• Oversee annual operating budget for Ball FloraPlant R&D cost centers.
• Liaise among breeding, Ball Helix, supply chain, and product development to align cross-functional priorities.
