Job summary

Philips is seeking a Global Cost Analyst to lead budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning for assigned business units in the United States. You will perform profitability and ROI analyses, advise leadership, and drive improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting.

This is a temporary project-based role through 2027 with responsibilities across investment evaluations and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in finance or related field; or a Master's degree with no experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the financial planning process for assigned units, including budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic planning.
  • Conducts profitability, margin and ROI analyses to support decisions and performance improvements.
  • Acts as trusted advisor by providing strategic financial insights for business leaders.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial impact of initiatives and ensure compliance.
  • Contributes to monthly business reviews by preparing financial materials and identifying actions.
  • Evaluates investment cases, including capex, R&D and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Ensures internal controls and supports audits; helps improve financial processes and systems.
  • Leads or participates in initiatives to improve planning, reporting and analysis efficiency.

Global Cost Analyst

Job Description

The Global Cost Analyst is responsible for leading financial planning for assigned business units or markets, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. In this role, you will conduct complex financial analyses, such as profitability and ROI assessments, to inform high-impact decisions and improve financial performance, as well as act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, providing financial insights to shape business strategy, with limited supervision. In addition, it also evaluates investment business cases, monitors financial health, ensures compliance with internal controls, and leads initiatives to improve financial processes and systems. This temporary project-based position will support assigned work until no later than October 29, 2027.

Your role
  • Leads the financial planning process for assigned business units, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning, ensuring that all financial plans are aligned with corporate objectives and provide a clear roadmap for achieving financial targets.
  • Conducts complex financial analysis, such as profitability analysis, margin analysis, and ROI assessments, to support high-impact business decisions and drive continuous improvement in financial performance.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders by providing strategic financial insights and recommendations, helping to shape business strategies and ensure that financial considerations are fully integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of business initiatives, such as product launches, market expansions, and cost-reduction programs, ensuring that financial risks and opportunities are fully understood and with compliance to financial accounting principles.
  • Contributes to the monthly business review process by coordinating the preparation of financial materials, leading discussions on financial performance, and identifying actions needed to achieve financial goals.
  • Evaluates investment business cases, including capital expenditures, R&D projects, and strategic marketing initiatives, ensuring that all financial assumptions are rigorous and that potential returns are aligned with the company's strategic priorities.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements by supporting financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and supporting internal and external audits as needed.
  • Leads or participates in initiatives to improve financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities.
You're the right fit if:
  • You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience Bachelor's in areas such as Business Partnering, Corporate Finance, Accounting Operations, Financial Planning and Analysis or equivalent OR no prior experience required with Master's Degree.
  • Your skills include working with limited supervision and broad guidelines, regularly applying independent judgment on matters of significance to drive project success and compliance; while monitoring the financial health of assigned business units by tracking key performance indicators, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and working with business leaders to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • You have a Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $97,000 to $154,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
