Job description

The Team:

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Global Director of Finance is a key member of the Unison finance and investment teams. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for multiple entities across the globe, operating in various currencies. This role ensures the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial statements primarily under US GAAP. The candidate will partner with Unison executives and external consultants to identify and implement tax and accounting strategies across multi-national operations. The candidate will lead the day-to-day compliance operations, with direct responsibility for all tax and accounting activities.

The Job:

Global Financial Close Oversight:

1. Coordinate and manage the financial close process for multiple entities worldwide, ensuring adherence to deadlines and internal controls.
2. Review and analyze financial data from various entities to identify and resolve discrepancies.
3. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in multiple currencies.

Multi-Entity Account Reconciliations:

1. Perform complex account reconciliations for multiple entities, including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and accruals.
2. Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner, considering currency exchange rate fluctuations and other global factors.

Multi-Currency Financial Statement Preparation:

1. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
2. Prepare financial statements in multiple currencies, including translation adjustments and consolidation.

Internal Controls:

1. Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards across multiple entities.
2. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in a global context.

Ad-hoc Analysis:

1. Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses as required to support global business decisions.
2. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data from multiple entities and currencies.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in the field of Accounting or Finance
2. CPA certification
3. 8+ years of relevant experience
4. Previous experience managing general ledger accounting and monthly close
5. Experience with multi-entity management
6. Experience with transfer pricing
7. Experience with lease accounting and FX accounting a plus
8. Highly analytical, and organized with exceptional attention to detail
9. Expert knowledge of Excel and ERP
