Job summary

OpenTable, Toronto-based, seeks an Associate Counsel, Commercial to join its legal team in a hybrid capacity (2 days in-office). You will draft, negotiate, and review a broad spectrum of international contracts across multiple jurisdictions, collaborating with internal teams and Booking Holdings.

You will provide practical legal guidance on product initiatives, vendor matters, and risk mitigation while helping streamline contracting playbooks and processes.

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in at least one state or province.
• Minimum 3 years of experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts across multiple jurisdictions including the United States.
• Experience applying standard playbooks, spotting issues, assessing risk, and making decisions under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of international commercial agreements across jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain contracting playbooks, workflows, and optimized processes.
• Deliver practical legal advice on product initiatives, payment matters, and customer support inquiries.
• Assess risks and communicate strategic solutions with actionable mitigation tactics.
• Advise on disputes and guide cross-functional teams toward favorable resolutions.
