Job summary

Bank of America in Chester is seeking a Collateral Operations Analyst to join the Collateral Operations Unit. The role focuses on mitigating counterparty risk by monitoring daily margin across Rates, Commodity, Structured Credit, Equity, and FX products.

You will interact with Back/Middle Office, Corporate Treasury, and Traders to determine collateral allocation, perform cash collateral transfers, and monitor credit exposure on derivatives, while seeking efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  • College degree or related experience required.
  • Basic understanding of financial markets and derivative products.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot unusual collateral flows.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with multiple groups within the bank and support Back Office/Middle Office operations.
  • Corporate Treasury/Global Securities Operations – determine collateral allocation and delivery of securities.
  • Cash/Wire Transfer – send/receive cash collateral.
  • Monitor credit exposure on derivatives and negotiate collateral agreements.
  • Investigate discrepancies and improve procedures for efficiency.

Role Description:

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Collateral Operations Unit. The main function of the Collateral Operations unit is to mitigate exposure to counterparty risk on OTC derivative trades. You will be a team member of the Collateral Operations Unit, which monitors daily margin for customers across various products (Rates, Commodity, Structured Credit, Equity, and Foreign Exchange)

Responsibilities Include:
  • You will interact with a variety of different groups within the bank
  • Back Office/Middle office Operation
  • Corporate Treasury/Global Securities Operations – Determines collateral allocation and delivery of securities
  • Cash/Wire Transfer – Send/receive cash collateral
  • Marketers/Traders – Trade and market derivatives with Financial Institutions and Corporate Customer
  • Credit – Monitors credit exposure on derivatives
  • Capital Markets Documentation – Negotiates the collateral agreements.
  • You will investigate mark discrepancies, maintain current procedure manuals, and look for methods of improving efficiency.
What we are looking for:
  • You will have a basic understanding of financial markets and derivative products.
  • You will have a basic understanding of financial markets documentation (ISDA, IFEMA, PSA)
  • You will have a college degree or related experience.
  • You will be detail oriented - Specifically the ability to recognize unusual flows/triggers for collateral in agreements and new trade structures.
Additional Skills:
  • An open flow of communication, specifically relating to new issues or problems, is necessary between team members.
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle high pressure situations, and juggle multiple tasks.
